Pros
These are indispensable for kayak fishing. They also do double duty in my skiff allowing. May just buy one for the back end of the canoe just for the ease of lowering and holding the anchor. I have a 12lb anchor and it has no problems at all with it.

Cons
The unit needs a large hole to be drilled in addition to the 4 holes for mounting. Lip on gunnel was to high. Would not fit in front of boat.

Just lift the anchor rope up high to release the lock and let down the anchor then lower the rope and it easily locks in place

I dont think id trust it for more than 15 i had a homemade anchor attached to one of them that must have weighed 20 and it flexed some so i bought another 12 river anchor and use that instead

Make sure you have the arrow pointing into your boat it will say inboard this is so when you pop it up to position it differently it doesnt come off completely

So youll need to drill a hole about an inch and a quarter or inch and a half in diameter to mount itwhich was within about half an inch of being a major problem on my boat

It locks down tightly on the anchor rope holds real well in the wind but comes free instantly when you lift the line
