I purchased these for the comfort and for some minimal protection the rubber on top should absorb a fair amount of the initial impact of a crash
They do stretch a bit too these are very comfortable gloves for warm weather ridingthey probably wont give you anymore than better than nothing protection but should be fine for slow a speed tip over
