Pros

Runs smoothly without making any noise. Only issue after all this time is that a couple of the pivot points have gotten a little squeaky.

It is a great alternative for days when i need some extra cardio. The thump thump as i work out is still there. You need to hold onto the handles a little tight and it eventually ramps up from a comatose number.

Overall it’s nicer than i expected for the money. The machine is spectacular! Definitely meets my expectations.

At 5'6 i’ve got plenty of headroom (this was our biggest concern). I'm 5'4 and the stride is adequate. Our ceiling height is 7 ft, 2 inches.

Simple controls to just hop on and go with a good amount of resistance at the max. The strides are short, but the resistance adds to the challenge. It is taking me a little time to find my right pace and resistance.

Cons

The noise when using this machine is deafening. The machining process is sub-par.

It rides smooth, but there’s no resistance setting that isn’t a preprogrammed idea of “rolling hills” or something wack like that. The only workout you'll get from this thing is from lugging it to the dumpster.

Quality

I didn't feel that i needed to spend $1000-$2000 for a gym quality one, and i was right, the a40 does what i need.

Overall, i am very pleased with this purchase.

This machine does not compete with the ellipticals you find in the gyms.

It says to see the website about lubing but i saw nothing there.

It is not as sturdy and high of quality, but for the cost im truly shocked at the quality.

Price

Love the battery, love the size, love the price.

Based on reviews it probably won't work or be accurate anyway and at this price i could care less.

It’s quiet and sturdy, the price was a steal.

But you know that at this price.

Shipping

) but was worried about the stride or the shipping time, and quality.

All in all, great shipping time, easily put together, fits in a room i expected it to be too big for, has a cup holder and has ...  Read More

Competitiveness

It’s not a fancy machine but great for the price and works very well.

Bottle holder looks like if you stick anything larger than a 16oz bottle it will snap.

I ony have 2-requests for future models.

I went with the schwinn a40 because it’s compact and unlike some other compacts, the pedals stay horizontal through the range of motion.
