No modifications to the door or jamb required to swap these out with my very old knobs from a top competitor. The color is perfect for the new decor up here; the doorknobs are the best. High quality schlage privacy door knob; can't go wrong.

The original knobs were kwikset and over the years they developed a lot of play in the knob

However i did end up replacing the basement knobs so the finish would match and the 8year old schlage knobs were over 14 ounces

The strike plate that attaches to the jamb were slightly different than the old kwikset strike plates

The kwikset strike plates had a bigger opening and were more forgiving to where the latch would line up when its shut

Most of our doors were mating up at the extreme bottom of the strike plate
