Pros & Cons
Pros
Used on 2 areas that had been stitched. Silicone in my experience works the best to reduce or at least minimize the scar so it doesnt' spread as much. It is good to have a medical-grade alternative.
Water-resistant and clear, making it convenient to use throughout the day without worrying about it rubbing off. On parts of body that are exposed like arms and face, waiting is not inconvenient. For like abdomen, waiting for it to dry is a little inc... Read More
This gel is great for smoothing out rough textures and for reducing redness is fresh scars. I use this for cartilage ear piercings and it both gets in the nooks of the ear well and doesn't look unsightly because it's clear.
The main difference i can see seems to be the branding and that the kid version comes in a tiny tube, which could be helpful when traveling, with a smaller applicator nozzle. The small packaging makes it great for carrying on the go and reapplying, an... Read More
Cons
This product is vaseline-based. The entire area around my eyes, even to my temples is red, burning, itching! Just not sure about the gel.

Within first week the scar filled in and was no longer recessed
Strips can be cut down and they stay on even after showering
Price
At the time this was priced at 20 on amazon i believe you can get it for a bit less in a big box store though
Its a bit pricey per ounce but probably still a good value
Packaging/appearance
The small packaging makes it great for carrying on the go and reapplying and the squeeze tube is good for precision due to its small nozzle
Competitiveness
If applied regularly for an extended period this silicone product appears to perform better than onionbased options like mederma
Given there does not appear to be a difference ill plan to buy whatever kind is cheaperon sale in the future for myself and kids over 3
It is very comparable to the price and size of other brands

The tube is not huge so if youre using it for multiple scars it will probably not last very long

Overall this will work if you are consistent but silicone scar tape works a bit better

I got this for a scar on my toddler’s forehead it’s thinner than the more expensive silicon we had previously but goes on easily

I would say that the silicone tape is more effective longterm care and can be used at night
