I have a lavatools probe that ive been using for the past couple of years and despite having a more solid feel than this unit and a higher price it recently stopped working and started displaying error every time i turn it on

I havent used a thermometer for bbqing in the past because it always seemed like too much of a hassle

I like that it is easy to use but it is not accurate alot of the time i was cooking ribeye and one minute it was 119 degrees then next minute it was 165 degrees so i got another probe and it was only at 105 so the accuracy is not very good

Unfortunately it wasn’t waterproof which made it a pain to wash thoroughly

Because of the water the display stopped working correctly and i can tell if something is 125 out 165

Was looking to get a cheepo to leave outside with smoker but realized quickly this was inexpensive but no cheepo
