After 13 years of using fondant 10 years of using satin ice 6 of them professionally i have a few opinions

It is not nearly as hard as other fondants duff and foundex required microwaving but being softer it gets gummy easier

Ive been making cakes for 8 years and this is the best choice ive made for fondant
