It is not possible to install windows 7 onto the ssd using this adapter and if win7 is installed on the primary internal drive it does not recognize the ssd in the modular bay using this caddy

I will advise being patient when trying to install your hard drive because there are no directions at least none came with my unit

It instantly recognized the drive but i formatted it to get rid of all the extra windows os crap i didnt need anymore

This nifty add in hhd bay work well the bios recognized it right away the bios seeing only 136gb this is because of bios limitations of older systems from 2004 i had used a western digital scorpio blue sata 250gb on a dell latitude d610 osxp pro service pack 3

After formatting the disk in ntfs windows was able to use the full 250gb232gb after formatting
