Pros

In a world often consumed by the ephemeral and the immediate, sapiens offers a counterbalance by spanning epochs and civilizations. The book focuses on the cognitive revolution of the upper paleolithic period and the advent of agriculture during the n...  Read More

Cons

While the first three chapters on early humans is very informative and enjoyable, the rest of the book becomes a polemic. There is moralizing throughout the book. The several chapters become an environmentalist screed.

I’m a scientific person and some of the author’s interpretations failed to convince me based on the evidence he presented — i have my own interpretations that don’t align with his in some cases but based on what i already know and what the book presented i can’t be confident that my original perspectives were accurate
