You will use the positive wire from each switch and connect to one of the four colored wires on the connecter
Removed the 4way restrictor plate and it was marginally better

I have this set up as a 4way for pacman ms
The input from this lever is very clean and makes it much easier to do proper motions way better than qanba stock lever

I did some guessing and testing and got the wiring figured out

It comes set up as 8way but can be switched to 4way if u are using it for pacman or something like that by adjusting the retainer on the bottom of the stick

The other thing is this joystick comes with a 5 pin connector and the 1up has 8 wires soldered in
