Pros
Autofocus is quick, accurate, but makes some light clicking noises. It's not blindingly fast but it’s quiet and fairly accurate if not a little soft.
Image quality is very good, out-resolving my a7 iii at apertures at or above f4. Aperture. Takes great photos, surprisingly little distortion for the width. Good backup lense.
I was blown away. The corners get sharp at f8. Iq at f/2. The lens is fairly sharp in the center and does get soft towards the outside edges, again it seems to be f5.
Cons
Optically the lens leaves a lot to be desired. My recommendation is to forget this lens, spend some more money and get a lens of a comparable focal length.

I actually liked it good enough that i sent my batis 18mm packing and sold it and bought a second lens
Competitiveness
I even compared this tiny samyang to the rather hefty zeiss 1635mm f4
I used a 17mm canon fd before on my sony a7rii the samyang has pretty much same range but less weight
0 and above the samyang matches zeisss sharpness in the center while the zeiss has some advantage in the corners between f4

Update 10232019so i got another copy of this lens and it turned out it is way sharper at f2
