There is a way to delay it for up to 10 minutes windows settingsextrasgalaxy settings but to delay or disable it further you should go to runregedithkey current usersamsungsamsung settingsdimming option and click on interval change the value data a to a larger number 4000 in my case

Note the reliability problem that some one star reviewers experienced is probably the samsung lock screen feature

I have no idea why that feature exists but you can go away from you tablet for 10 minutes or so and return to find a dark screen
