Pros
I use mine until they wear out ( 1 yr or more). I use a reacher about 15+ times daily, and this brand is my preference. It is helpful and has many uses.
The handle has a grip like a * that extends at a 45 degree angle. There photo show the trigger and jaws reliably. The grip is good.

Cons
The rope that closes the jaws comes apart. It's not very sturdy either.
The contact area for grabbing things is much smaller. The magnet on the end is so weak he can barely pick up car key. These are great for a few weeks, and then the tension breaks on it and the pinchers separate and do not meet, so you cannot grab anyt... Read More

Also the materials the generic ones were made of didn’t seem to be of the same quality as the materials of the brand name ones

I received my first “reacher” when i was in rehab a couple of years ago and used it so much i wore out the grippy tip and it would no longer pick things up

I made the mistake of trying to pull my bed blanket closer to me from my wheelchair and then it wouldn’t work

The tip was offcenter and i noticed a string from inside the pulley system was hanging out and formed a loop
