They were a very snug fit so i bought some cheap thin running socks which then made them comfortable and now ive had them a few months they have loosened up a bit and i should be able to wear thicker socks through the winter
I also found that the heel position was a bit lower than my old shoes which felt odd to start with but im used to them now and i think theyre helping with my tight hamstrings
