After nearly two years of trying to use this pen, it's been relegated to the junk box of unusable things. The nib feels very scratchy when writing. Most other reviewers have a high opinion of this sailor pen, but that's not my experience.

The pen is sturdy and wellmade lines are mostly crisp but a heavy paper works best

Not like using a stub nib more like the back of a perfectly smooth shovel in a good way
