Pros & Cons

Pros

The rope is much easier for kitty to claw and grip to, and she absolutely went bananas racing up and down the pole. It’s sturdy and stabile for him to climb on. My adult cat uses it mostly for scratching.

We do have this directly against a wall, i am not sure if the sturdiness would be okay without it. It blends in very nicely to our apartment's ugly manilla walls.

Assembly is extremely simple and can be done with one person and a step stool. On the hardwood floor it's a little slippery since the bottom is carpeted but it's not too bad.

The ceiling plate is bigger in diameter with non-skid rubber and the spring is stronger holding the cat tree tighter to the ceiling. Hubby thinks we could bolt to the ceilings if we decide this will be it’s permanent spot.

The pole is solid, even with my big boy springing off of it full-speed. The cats like to hide on the staggered shelves and play with each other. They’re just nervous so far but my braver cat got on the second rung up so far!

Cons

The spring loaded pole is nothing more than some 1/8 inch pvc pipe. For small kittens these are very tall and unsafe.
