Direct switch is the time save. This is handy for sharing usb peripherals like keyboard and mouse to multiple computers. One nitpick, this has so many wires coming in out of it, and i'm bit of a neat freak.

If id suggest anything it would be that there be an option to turn off the red lights the box

Do note that even though it comes with a usbc cable to provide power it does not come with the actual power brick or wall wart

You should be able to find one here on amazon that should do the trick but its an added expense
