My primary reason for wanting this if for the uv protection as we live at 7000 feet here in colorado and the uv rays are off the chart which quickly ruins unprotected wood left outside

Against everyones recommendation to use pressure treated 2x6 or a composite i decided to try using untreated 2x6 white wood pine or spruce

Also the thought was to use light staining gold oak to keep the color bright which reflects sunlight and to keep it cool to the touch but protect the heck out of the handrail to make it last
