Just plain works. Power switch pops back up with a satisfying click. Second one i have had the first one lasted 10 years.
Cons
Rh kettle quality is abysmal relative to the original british made. If the supposed'stainless steel' is corroded by household water it makes me wonder what type of blend of metal they really used and if any chemicals have been leaching into the water ... Read More
This is the second of this model in less than 12 months on which the on/off switch has gone faulty.
Highlights
Quality
Very durable this is the second one i have had the first one lasted 10 years.
The handle is nice and thick and sturdy and shaped comfortably.
Bought this again to replace the one that finally gave out after several years of constant use and some hard handling.
It boils water and turns itself off when that is accomplished.
Price
It works fine and was a great price.
Shipping
I was pleased how quickly it came once i ordered it on amazon!
I received in quick time just what i ordered.
Competitiveness
We chose thsi brand because it is what we had previously and it worked great for years.
I tried another brand and went back to russell hobbs!
Maybe there shouldn't be such a price differential between hobbs and cheaper offerings, but i will stick with hobbs because it is the best.

Then one day it just didnt work it may have been due to the contact on the base of the kettle resting on a damp cloth before placing on the conductor base cause it to short out
