One side was soft wool we put it on the hardwood floor and one had a sparse rough material sprayed on it this side i figured was for the rug so that it would stick firmly to the pad

The rug was large 6x9 and this fit under it without emerging at all from the edges

The pad was simply rolled up in a box and amazon left it on the stoop in pouring rainunlike usps and ups carriers who put packages inside our screen door both to protect them from the elements and to not leave them completely visible to potential thieves
