Pros
One for carpets and rugs and one for hard floor surfaces. Comes into it's own on tiled floors. However, they are * - if you are looking for one machine that can do both carpet and hardwood then this is worth a look.
Cons
In addition, it leaves pools of water on the floor or carpet. It leaves a pool of water in the middle of the floor.

Bought primarily for hard floor cleaning as a steam mop or spray mop never hot the tiles clean

Also on hard floors using the recommended detergent we also found that there was a bit of a sheenresidue visible after cleaning and that it takes quite a while to dry

We have high gloss tiles in our kitchen and no matter how we mopped them they were always streaky when they dried
