Pros & Cons
Pros
The theory behind the grenade wedge is good. No deformation on the striking surface so far. Handled with ease. It’s brilliant and works brilliantly.
It's easier to get it started with a lump hammer but you need a sledge hammer for the actual splitting. Works best with a 2 or 3 pound lump hammer, you want to get a weight going that will not tire you out and feels like a natural hammering action.
This is a great way to chop up a lot of big logs too big for an axe. It splits the logs as described. If you’ve wood to split then this is for you it works a treat.
Cons
Bottom sheared off in this soft wood. Used it once. Just used it again and tip snapped cleaned off. Eventually the tip bent.
