Pros
This latest effort is great start for beginners, although you don't have to be a beginner to enjoy it. It's not overly complicated to understand. Nothing overly complicated or fancy. Delivered on time with just enough packaging to keep it safe.
For a cookbook that will be opened and closed, and laid out on the counter, and flipped thorough. Great recipes and easy to follow directions.

This book is perfect for a beginner baker and even for children. Detailed instructions for pastry basics, like pate a choux, pastry cream, etc.
Cons
Most of the recipes in this book call for bleached flour. Choosing to use bleaching flour in the recipes makes the book feel old fashioned and out of touch with the way most people bake today. The cookbook is full of errors.

A friend handed me down her copy of the baking bible and comparing both books by rose the baking basics is really meant to be read by beginners it’s like a primer for bakers
