We have not gone over 2 so i cannot speak to the reaction from our dog on anything but one or two

If the need arises one button pushing will wake up the remote and the next button would activate the selected function

My husband and i agreed that we only use the shock function as a last result and once he has repeatedly refused to respond to the beep and vibration functions

I can happily report that in the most bullheaded moment he had over the last few weeks and after 3 failed sequences of escalation and no response we have only gone up to the level 2 setting once unit goes up to 16

The battery doesnt last more than 2 or 3 days but the fact that you can charge both the collar and the remote control at the same time is a plus
