This thing digs deep and cuts through roots easily. It also has a large stepper for really getting in deep. It literally goes through roots, grass and even hard dirt (middle of summer missouri clay) like butter!
They run parallel to the ground and every foot they make a node which stems vertically in multiple offshoots.
Cons
The handle is 48 inches standard size only by extending the socket does the overall length of the shovel top out at 62 inches. The issue is with the labeling. It's lightweight, yes -- but unusable.

Slightly heavy but if any lighter it would not have done the job well
