The size is small, but large enough to make an enjoyable delicious pastry. I really wish it was designed just a little differently, maybe with the tip towards the hinge or providing a bit more space so it's easier to fill the whole iron.

First off i wouldnt necessarily get this as a first pie iron

And because the top of the pie is very close to the hinge depending on the shape of the bread you may end up with a lot of crust in there and some gaps at the top of the heart

My second attempt i just cut the crusts off and that worked a lot better

That being said if youre just making grilled cheese sandwiches the round one is more practical no crusts sealed edges or the squarish one pretty much full bread sized
