    The chips should be 1/8 or so and the router speed shouldn't bog down.

    I would not be concerned about this bit overheating and losing it's edgecons:labeling - there's no mark for minimum/maximum insertion depth for reference on the collet.

    It works pretty well for milling down and leveling the deck, but if the stepover is too big you will notice the center of the bit is slightly higher than the outer edges.
