I purchased this item so that i could listen to sounds from multiple computers and phones on one set of speakers or headphones

I didnt realize how much gain this mixer provides and therefore at first i found that i could only turn each channel up to maybe about 5 before the sound became too loud noisy and distorted

I found this to be the case regardless of whether i powered the device via battery or via ac adapter if anything i think the hum for me was actually worse when using a battery

Though in my case this doesnt affect me all that much since as i mentioned i am not turning up the mixer very much at all but if i was to hold this mixer to the same standard as a real mixer for recording or live sound that level of noise would be absolutely unacceptable
