I have not tried to use the stand to charge our ipads but since the plug is adjustable in the front of the stand i am sure i could get it to align

Originally priced at close to 200 the current generation is still that price i picked this up for 36 because of the misleading description

Just keep in mind that you wont be able to install a lightning cable into this model for portrait charging thanks to it being as previously noted made for devices with a 30pin connector
