Further edit and update based on our experience id say you can expect this collar to stay on the feline member of your family for maybe one or two years before they wriggle out of it and youll have to replace it

The collar itself still locks firmly into place however

The feline member of our family has worn this for 3 weeks and hasnt escaped from it yet there was an issue where she wriggled free of it but that was before we tightened the collar

However for the primary purpose of a collar that stays on and wont come off its working great

Ultimately we decided its better to have a collar that wont come off so people can see the tag on it listing our phone number the reward if offered message and the microchip number engraved on the collar

Some bad news here guys a microchip does not always show your contact info even if a vet scans the cat with the appropriate chipdetecting equipment
