Then when i force it out, it sticks out until i fiddle enough with it to retract it. It never fully retracts. If you follow the instructions, which state that it needs to contact the fork, it scratches the fork.

I can also take it on and off when it is a 3 bike rack but the 3 set up is really too heavy for me
