I have added mulch on top of the ring to protect the edges when i mow

The first one i followed the directions and removed about one inch of sod to set the ring

One when i opened it to put around a very small bush it almost completely ripped in 12

The other im not sure how but maybe a branch on the again very small bush ripped it but only about 46 inches in from the center
