Pros & Cons

Pros

Small, compact, small room size. Takes standard accessories. Next project requires 29 cherry legs so i'll be buying the extension.

Heavy, durable, and powerful. The lathe is solid and performs well. It is very sturdy and doesn't give any wobble or movement.

This is a great starter lathe for wood turning hobbyists. It's a great machine for a beginner. The training videos on rockler's site for the beginner usually are using their talon chuck.

This lathe has no slop in any of the moving parts, such as the ball bearing cast iron tailstock, cast iron headstock, 5 speeds from 760rpm to 3200rpm. It also has chrome eccentric locking levers and hand wheels. Unbreakable plastic locking levers.

Cons

It has a bad wobble so all of my turnings are out of round. The tail stock does not sit tight on the bed.

Motor is weak not enough power for turnings larger than a certain size bowls or plates over 4 diameter id say

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I know you can fit up to 10 diameter pieces but realize the motor wont be able to handle that

Power cord isnt very sturdy the ground pin broke loose after 45 months of use

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

When adding the extension bed the process of leveling is very difficult having only two bolt holes makes it difficult to align the extension bed 4 bolt holes would be more ideal
