Cons

Spindle wobbles terribly out of the box. After an hour of use, motor bucks and throws sparks constantly. Called rikon customer service and was transferred to joe/joey, described as management. Received a broken drill on 14th jun 13.

All in all i am very happy with the drill

As for the worklight tormach makes an led pro ring light that secures to the quill and is supposedly very good

I was looking for a quality bench top drill press which seems to be hard to find

Shipping

Nope explained the situation and they shipped the new motor out no questions asked and more importantly no shipping or charge for the motor

I decided to call rikon instead of just shipping it back because of the reviews of their customer service

I emailed rikon and asked if the 30140 parts could be used on the 30120

Competitiveness

It comes without any fancy gimmickry such as a worklight or a laser sight

I installed the new motor and it works like a champ

This is not a fullsize floor model and its not your averagesize benchtop dp but rather somewhere inbetween

It stands about 40 high and weighs about 120lbs
