Keep in mind that on a windows system that you will not have access to the bios or anything prior to the usb and then bt adapter so dont throw away your old keyboard this is my second rii wireless keyboard for my htpc
The back light is a soft glow that is not over powering in the dark and the touchpad works great for thumbs vs the other version with the track pad on the side of the keyboard
