I love that the tape is retractable so all i have to do is press a button and return the tape measure to my purse

The first is that as the tape unwinds theres an audible click every 6 or so

Its part of the latching mechanism inside that prevents the tape from winding back into the device until you hit the button

Its properly sealed and wont come apart but it looks a little off on close inspection
