Opened up the mike has 1 phillips screw and 2 security torx screws i had the proper bits on hand and as others reported a bit of plastic flashing from the molding process was covering up the slot above the microphone module

Looks like a good hand mic but not as good build quality like their model 27 radio which their mic is supposed to relate to

Original microphone holes in enclosure are aside from actual microphone and this is a reason for bad sound
