Pros

This book is amazing, empowering and a must have for anyone who is a survivor or interacts with survivors. Its a very informative book, written for survivors in a realistic manner.

This book is hard. Be brave and reward your survivor self with this book. It’s an easy read too vs being textbook like.

It is helpful if you are working with a therapist, but also is beneficial for someone just looking for answers and support. He offers great insights and exercises to do with one's therapist. Survivors' words and artwork are very powerful.

Working through trauma is the hardest thing i have ever done, but so very worth it. The survivor stories show how to break the bad thought patterns which enable the reader to see how the healing comes about.

Cons

See deuteronomy 22:6 but unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing. When someone you love suffers from posttraumatic stress byclaudia zayfert phd and the * healing journey by wendy maltz are much more readable.

It is not easy to get through and far from a light read but the best accomplishments are not easily won

I am amazed that a guy has written something that expounds on the pain and misery that a victim of sexual assault feels and know how to extract the pain with the right questions and reveal the princess underneath the dross or scum dirt and mildew

I have a trauma story that includes multiple sexual assaults though i have been in and out of therapy over the years to work on healing from that i never found a resource that i actually found to be helpful

A lot of books for rape survivors are informational but not many really walk you through a process of healing
