Setting the timer is very easy. The easiest way to do it is to wait for the time of day when you want it to start. It connects to the spigot and then you connect your hose to the timer.

Shockingly, the instructions are thorough and easily followed. Easy to install and setup. Takes less than a minute. The interface works, bit confusing but the directions are workable.
