Pros
The mesh is fly screen netting mesh. Since the mesh is rolled over the pvc from the outside, the pvc pipes are what blocks some of the usable space. There really isn't much room for anything else though.
A solution for all sorts of critter issues. Deer proofing my blueberry bush. Now it keeps the critter out. My wife likes to feed the birds, which also attracts ground squirrels and chipmunks.

We had to make sure to thoroughly bury the entire bottom edge of the mesh cover in the dirt to prevent the critters from pushing under the cover and getting to the plants
