Pros
They are true believers who work in an industry built on creativity, innovation and disruption. This book takes every single concern that an employer or employee might have and addresses it.
Remote offers a nice perspective on how a fully distributed team behind basecamp operates, and how they structured the company. It has really nice list of ideas with examples and suggestions to avoid burnout during wfh/remote work situation.
The issue of remote and asynchonomous work could not be realistically raised ten years ago, but can certainly be today.
Cons
Sloppy writing makes it obvious you did not put any research into it. Was expecting a book, not an obvious series of 1-2 page blog posts.
Book is dated - use webex - seriously? Doesn't have a lot of tactical input on how to make remote work.
Any intelligent discussion is ruined with a simplistic one-liner. Next it describes commuting to work as a horrible process and a waste of time.

No longer struggle with the long commutes wasted time at the office distracting coworkers
As a remote product manger it was a very positive reminder of what the benefits are
It manifests in the behaviour of staff to one another in the manner of treating customers in the quality of work accepted and so on
I came to agree with the concept only after being tortured by conventional business and management models
