Its not that hes silent but details of the circumstances of his abduction trickle out slowly and some of what happened we learn from him and some from what the police tell his parents but it never emerges as a full picture

Add to that a nice feel for the area around corpus christi texas the social context of which is effectively registered as a community deals with wounded family and it adds up to an engaging and interesting novel

It was unfortunately a bit to verbose at times and i found myself skipping paragraphs hoping to get past it
