I found some lacuna in the scientific accuracy of the research for example blood pressure heart rate and respiration must be manually monitored by an awakening astrounaut rather than contiuously by wearable biosensors and realtime computation while on the other hand ais are not merely intelligent but have idiosyncratic personalities not mediated by affective computing and neuroscience

This book is a good and competent piece of hard science fiction but i did not find the verisimilitude of edward lerners sci fi thrillers or the accuracy and trully literary witing of neal stephensons seveneves or cryptomonicon

You will need to read book one because book two picks up right where the first book left off and it does not give a short catch up
