The leather is a little bit stiff and is obviously going to take some time to break in but its nowhere near as bad as i was expecting from all of the reviews and comments that ive read

Red wing does make some insoles that work with the boots but you have to put them down ontop of the permanent insoles which are mostly but not entirely flat especially if youve been wearing the boots for a while so not quite ideal
