Pros & Cons
Pros
The recoton sp-2 preamplifier works just as advertised. It boosts the signal from my record player to my shelf stereo. Putting an equalizer between the pre-amp and the computer really helps to sound quality of those old records.

No need for more expensive types unless youre doing high quality rerecordings or something of that nature
Rather than buying a new pc compatible turntable i thought i would try this product
Competitiveness
Sound was confusingly quiet until i remembered the need for a preamp with a modern reciever with no phono inputs
