I ultimately ended up installing a range extension to my controller because this solution was extremely directional

This gets just as good range as the blueproton and remotes wifi signal stays good for longer distances

I put the guard on after the initial startup and take it off before putting it away so im not sure if the initial gimbal startup is disrupted by this but it does not get in the way when recording and having the camera pointed straight down

In areas where line of sight is not prevalent it does not help

The first flight without the extender reached 2850 ft before losing signal and returning home automatically

If you flip it the range is increased with no loss of video range or wifi range
