It sticks to the desk with some sort of nonsticky backing that is really difficult to explain

Ive had mine for years and wouldnt swap it for anything unless i could get an ultra wide version of the same one just for ocdness that it would make the desk look like i had a blotter

Its very fine so if you run the mouse off the edge by mistake youre not aware of doing it and it doesnt mess up a frantic gaming session

They would also lose their slickness over time as dust dirt accumulated and cleaning didnt seem to restore it
