Pros & Cons
Pros
The outer casing seems much more durable than the original, although i have no complaints about that one. This is important because mice and insects destroy all of the heaters i mentioned at a faster rate.
Once set up, it is super easy to use. Manual is very detailed.
Cons
Circuit boards are vulnerable to nesting rodents, notwithstanding efforts to repel them with (flammable)moth balls, steel wool, and what-have-you. There seems to be a heat sensor design default as it chronically fails.
This is an inexpensive heater so do not expect it to last that long.
Highlights
Quality
The product arrived promptly within a couple of days
By far this is the easiest heater to install and integrate with the comp pool and aqualink computer management systems
Competitiveness
It has run like a champ ever since

Frankly just about every other heater i work on is a complete nightmare in the wiring department

Newer hayward and starite heaters use a power vent which is a cool idea although unnecessary for outdoor use

However these fans crap out all the time as mice seem to love them more than computer boards

Its just an unnecessary part unless youre setting your heater up indoors and if you do raypak sells a more robust vent separately
