While mine does close it doesnt fit as snugly as it could and doesnt grip as much of the neck of the decanter as one would expect if you can picture that

Ideally it should have been ground to fit snugly and preceicely to its mate rather than feeling like an afterthought one of a batch of stoppers randomly chosen
