Even after a bit of adjustment the trigger mechanism was very sensitive and an inquisitive rat merely nuzzling the outside of the casing was enough to set it off

We found the trap needed to be placed very firmly on the ground with added weight on the top avoiding the trigger bars so it wouldnt move

Having done that it worked well and given the speed the rat ran away when released it didnt do the animal any harm
